ARTICLE XII. FELLOWSHIP RECOVERY MEETING OPERATIONS
Section 1. Fellowship Recovery Meeting Definition
Within this Article, fellowship meetings can be referred to as “Meetings” or “RM” for brevity.
A. The Board of Directors will organize & conduct, in pursuance of Article II, Section 2 (A),
recovery meetings for individuals who suffer from addiction & wish to share experience,
strength & hope with others who have recovered, are currently recovering, or a wanting
to begin the recovery process.
B. Meetings can be organized & conducted both online or in-person at a physical venue to
allow individuals a forum to speak & share their experience, strength & hope.
C. Each meeting will last 1 hour in length, unless otherwise decided by the Board of
Directors or the Fellowship Recovery Meeting Chairperson for that specific meeting.
D. Each meeting must keep & maintain a RM journal log, providing meeting name,
occurrence date, number of individuals in attendance, & an aggregate of all monies
collected.
Section 2. Fellowship Adoption of a 12 Step Recovery Program of Action
The Fellowship Community Group (FCG) established in Article XI, and the Fellowship
Recovery Meetings established in this Article will adopt as its core recovery philosophy
& spiritual operation guide, the suggested 12 Step Program of Action as outlined in the
Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous 4th edition – 2001 as originally written & approved by
the first 100 of Alcoholics Anonymous in 1939.
These steps of recovery will be suggested & encouraged to be adopted by all those who
participate in the Fellowship Recovery Meetings & practiced by those who identify
themselves as members of the Fellowship Community Group.
Section 3. Fellowship Recovery Meeting Chairperson
This section establishes the Fellowship Recovery Meeting Chairperson for each individual
meeting occurrence:
A. Each meeting will be administered by a Fellowship Meeting Chairperson, referred to as a
Fellowship Recovery Meeting Chair, Meeting Chair, RMC or Chair, who will be
determined & designated by the Board of Directors, & who will provide oversite &
ensure adherence to the guidelines & principles contained within these bylaws for each
specific meeting occurrence.
B. The Fellowship Recovery Meeting Chair can oversee multiple meeting occurrences for
the same organized meeting, consecutively or non-consecutively.
C. Chair will be responsible for totaling & recording all monetary donations in aggregate in
the RM journal log.
D. The Meeting Chair, once designated by the Board of Directors, can subsequently
designate the Chair for the following meeting.
Section 4. Fellowship Meeting Types
Every fellowship meeting occurrence will be opened to all forms of substance abuse
users including drugs, alcohol, over-eating, etc… unless specified by the Board of
Directors.
Section 5. Fellowship Meeting Venue Selection
All In-Person Fellowship Meeting physical locations must be approved by the Board of
Directors.
A. The Board of Directors will partner with local municipalities & county agencies seeking
to rent by the hour or have donated hourly, a safe facility to host an in-person
fellowship meeting for little or no cost.
B. The Board of Directors may also seek to partner with other 501 (c) (3) organizations
such as churches & community outreach facilities (YMCA) within specific communities,
utilizing safe & available spaces where Fellowship Meetings can be hosted.
The Board of Directors may also enter into individual rental agreements with private
property owners to use safe & available facilities to host meetings for little to no cost.
